Design Inspiration
The Touch of Blue project drew inspiration from the desire to create a kitchen that feels both modern and inviting. We wanted to blend elements of a classic farmhouse design with contemporary touches, which led to the choice of the blue herringbone tile backsplash as the focal point. This addition provides a vibrant yet calming effect, perfectly balancing the sleek, modern cabinetry with a hint of rustic charm. The goal was to create a space that not only serves as a functional kitchen but also acts as a beautiful gathering spot for family and friends.
Another unique feature we added to this space was a wood base and marble countertop to the island. The homeowners didn’t want all-white cabinetry because they felt it was a little too stark for their style. Opting for a wood base on the island added a touch of natural texture, and to enhance this contrast, we selected a marble countertop with a lot more movement, creating a dynamic and inviting focal point that perfectly complements the blue herringbone backsplash.
